Athletics Rally For Late Win Over Thunderbirds
Kansas City Athletics starter Keaton Bozek found his groove in his team's 8-6 win over the Phoenix Thunderbirds. Mark Curry snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-1 on the season. Alexis Cosme suffered the loss. Eduardo Leon was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Andy Wetsch came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Phoenix pitcher Nick Crook, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kansas City on top, 7-6.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Athletics manager Joe Monagle, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."

With the victory, the Athletics record stands at 41-27.
