Athletics Beaten By Vikings, 9-2

Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Kansas City Athletics home opener. Gerald Tanton started for the home team against Vismay Falcon for the Minneapolis Vikings. The Athletics were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 9-2, Minneapolis. Vismay Falcon, though, was impressive. Falcon yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-0.
Minneapolis used a clutch at-bat from Gentaro Arakawa to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vikings ahead, 7-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Vismay showed what he's made of," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
