Week's Premier Performer Honored by EC Monday, September 2nd , 2086 St. Louis fans have something to crow about today as St. Louis center fielder Ryan Clifford nabbed the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Clifford. He posted a .500 average (7-for-14) this past week with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. So far this season, Clifford is hitting .273 with 7 home runs, 44 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 79 hits in 289 at-bats and a .341 OBP. |
