Chan's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback Friday, August 23rd , 2086 A bit of bad luck has fallen on the St. Louis Gaedels today as they learned that starting pitcher Ji-an Chan had suffered a setback in his recovery from a sore back and will miss more time than expected. The team's doctors had been optimistic about the player's return date, but have now rescinded the original date. The initial guess at how much more time he'll miss is one week. To date, Chan has a 8-7 mark in 25 starts with a 3.88 ERA. He has given up 145 hits in 143.2 innings, struck out 100 and issued 36 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .260 batting average against him. |
