Phoenix Eliminated from Playoff Contention Friday, September 21st , 2085 It's not quite the championship run that fans in Phoenix might have envisioned. The Phoenix Thunderbirds were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. "There are a lot of good clubs in Rising Star League and unfortunately we couldn't quite make it into that elite group this year," said Thunderbirds manager Joe Busch. Phoenix last appeared in the postseason in 2081. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 83 times in their 96-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Thunderbirds have only made the playoffs once. Phoenix last won the League Championship in 2081. |
