Vasco Hitless, Stopped by Senators Tuesday, August 1st , 2084 The Washington Senators pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Rafael Vasco hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Rangers at Bison Stadium. The disappointing performance ended a 26-game hitting streak for the first baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Vasco said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." So far this season, Vasco is batting .309 with 9 home runs. |
