Havana Halts Bizarro's Hitting Steak Friday, July 14th , 2084 It just wasn't Ramão Bizarro's day. The Los Angeles Stars grabbed the 3-2 win over the Havana Metropolitanos, but the Metropolitanos mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 25-game hitting streak of Stars center fielder Ramão Bizarro. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Bizarro," Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Stars have other hitters and they did their job today." So far this year, Bizarro is batting .276 with 10 home runs, 34 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
