Stars End Garza Streak
Thursday, July 13th , 2084
The Havana Metropolitanos lost to the Los Angeles Stars, 11-1, at Stars Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Carlos Garza's 23-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-3 on the day.

"We felt if we could slow down Garza, we would win the game," Stars manager Pat Kaers explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."

This season, Garza has delivered 84 hits in 272 at-bats for a .309 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .375 clip and his totals also include 39 RBIs and 34 runs scored. This year Garza has played in 76 games.
