Garza Has 20-Game Hitting Streak
Thursday, July 6th , 2084
Carlos Garza continued his streak at Estadio Latinoamericano, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Havana second baseman was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Metropolitanos were not as fortunate, losing, 13-8, to the Minneapolis Vikings.
"Garza was hitting everything we threw at him," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Carlos Garza struck out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Kwang-sik Nho in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This season, Garza has hit 2 home runs and posted a .309 batting average.
