Phantoms-Dragons Deal: Knight for Yamamoto Sunday, July 2nd , 2084 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Chicago Phantoms and Portland Dragons finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Chicago's 20-year old 3B Nick Knight, 21-year old RHP Frank Koenig, 19-year old minor league RHP Kengo Tanaka, a 1st round draft pick, and a 2nd round draft pick to Portland in a swap for 23-year old RHP Taisei Yamamoto and 29-year old 3B Donner Munro. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. For the year, Yamamoto has compiled a 2-9 record with a 5.74 ERA. |
