Eighmy Raps 3 Homers Against Destroyers Monday, June 19th , 2084 Chris Eighmy went yard three times in a Denver Glaciers victory over the San Diego Destroyers at Seaward Stadium. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Denver first baseman went 3-for-4 against San Diego with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Glaciers to the 14-9 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Chris Eighmy walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Bob Castillo in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Victor Balaguer in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Javy Fierro in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Eighmy is batting at a .248 pace this season, picking up 62 hits in 250 at-bats with 16 home runs, 57 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
