Glaciers End Alvelo Streak Thursday, June 15th , 2084 Cristovão Alvelo went 0-for-4 at Mountain Dew Park to break his consecutive-game hitting streak at 22 games. The 32-year-old Cincinnati center fielder failed to get a hit in the 2-0 Twins victory over the Denver Glaciers at Mountain Dew Park. Alvelo did not make himself available to reporters after the game. "I think Cristovão is a little upset," Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops said. "He'll get over it." For the year, Alvelo is batting .329 with 79 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 28 times and driven in 38. |
