Flores Rockets 3 HR Against Philadelphia Sunday, June 11th , 2084 Havana Metropolitanos left fielder Willie Flores sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Philadelphia Spectres, Flores told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Flores pushed the Metropolitanos past the Spectres, 10-3. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Flores told reporters after the game. Willie Flores grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mauricio Ponce in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Zamora in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Alberto Zamora in the 9th. So far this season, Flores has recorded a .185 batting average with 12 hits, 6 home runs, 10 RBIs, 15 runs scored and a .274 OBP. |
