EC Player of the Week Chosen Monday, May 13th , 2086 After all of Jacob Testaverde's years in baseball, some have suggested -- albeit very delicately -- that he should think about calling it quits. But the "mature adult," as he calls himself, showed last week that he's still capable of keeping up with the youngsters. The 35-year-old Maine designated hitter was honored today as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He fended off all comers by posting a .519 average with 14 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. So far this season, Testaverde has hit .391 with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and scored 28 times. |
