Zika Slams Milestone Homer
Wednesday, June 7th , 2084
"I wasn't trying to hit a homer. I just wanted to make contact."
That's what Ricky Zika told reporters after he made league history at Western Coliseum. The prolific slugger belted home run #400 in the Houston Aquas 3-2 victory over the Las Vegas Aces.
The standout starting pitcher collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
"I guess this puts me in baseball's elite," said Zika. "I don't feel any different. I probably should, but I don't. Still, it is a nice achievement. I did get a little excited, didn't I?"
So far in his career, the 35-year-old Zika has put up a 3.82 ERA with 147 wins and 122 losses.
