Yellowknife Halts Snook's Hitting Steak Saturday, April 20th , 2086 The 21-game hitting streak of Denver Glaciers first baseman Jim Snook came to an end at Mountain Dew Park. The Yellowknife Ravens held him hitless in 5 at-bats and also sent the Glaciers down to defeat, 13-8. Later, Snook acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him. "It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one." Snook is batting .405 this season in 21 games with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 34 hits in 84 at-bats. |
