The Las Vegas center fielder had a fantastic 5-for-6 day against the Kansas City Athletics, leading his club to victory, 15-5. "I was seeing the ball very well and it was going just about anywhere I wanted," Pontes said later." Venceslau Pontes tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off D.J. Harkins in the 9th.
