Tucson's Zeeff to Miss Season Thursday, July 5th , 2085 The doctors have spoken and Brian Zeeff of the Tucson Toros didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old shortstop is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Zeeff sustained his season-ending injury during the San Francisco Friars game yesterday at Aetna Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Tucson medical staff reported Zeeff had a broken kneecap and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 months. In 79 games this season, Zeeff has batted at a .302 pace with 96 hits and 4 home runs. |
