 | Friday, April 30th, 2010: Ouch! Luis Maldonado Shelved by Injury Watching Luis Maldonado getting helped off the field today at Cosmos Ballpark, fans of the New York Cosmos feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the center fielder will miss 6-7 weeks with a strained achilles tendon. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Maldonado suffered the injury running the bases in the game against the Spectres. This year Maldonado is hitting .237 with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .363 clip and scored 8 runs. |
