 | Thursday, May 29th, 2008: Drew Rips New York for 5 Hits During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Pete Drew went 5 for 5 against the New York Cosmos at Ballpark of Pittsburgh and the Eagles picked up a 7-4 victory. He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted center fielder was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room. "He was patient up there today," the Pittsburgh skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Drew has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes." P. Drew hit a solo-shot off R. Ferrer in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th. Currently Drew is hitting .368 and has collected 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 25 times, while playing in 46 games. |
