Arrows Score Late to Nip Destroyers, 6-5
The Seattle Arrows handed the San Diego Destroyers a 6-5 defeat at Power Ballpark. Left Fielder Hideji Yamanaka starred for Seattle. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Seattle reliever Midori Murakami picked up the win to move to 1-1. Mike Kostin suffered the loss. The win lifted the Seattle record to 35-32.

Had Yamanaka not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Yamanaka hit a run-scoring single. The Arrows took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
