Browns Drop Cyclones, 5-4
|
Matt Lawson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Miami Cyclones from being beaten, 5-4, to the Brooklyn Browns at Kroger Stadium. Lawson was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Yeniet Miranda picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 3 in 5 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The wins continue to add up for Brooklyn. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
Brooklyn first baseman Raymilson Bayam contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 56th hit of the season and put the Browns ahead, 5-2.
Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
