Alaska Kodiaks starter Will Spangenberg pitched his team past the Portland Dragons in 12 innings, 3-2. The win was credited to 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Amendola in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Ryan Mena took the loss. The win lifted the Alaska record to 36-29.

David Cortez had a direct impact on the outcome. Cortez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Alaska up, 3-2.

"There's no quit in this team," said Kodiaks manager Alex King.
