Carlos Yturralde, who is tied for 7th in the EC in complete games with 1, imposed his will on the Kings from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 St. Louis triumph. St. Louis occupies first place in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division at 38-29.

With two out in the bottom of the first, Wayne Curran put St. Louis in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Gaedels went on to win the ballgame.

"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Yturralde.
