Arrows Drop Destroyers, 7-6
|
Seattle registered a win at Power Ballpark by beating the San Diego Destroyers, 7-6. Pitcher Alex Zapien was one reason why the Arrows triumphed. Zapien, the winner, moves to 3-6. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. With the win, Seattle goes to 29-37, while the Destroyers fall to 25-41.
The Arrows got a big at-bat from third baseman Jose Yanez. For the game, Yanez went 1 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Seattle a 2-0 lead.
"Alex can bring it," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
