Denver and San Francisco got after it at Staples Field.
The Denver Glaciers wanted a good start from Alejandro Silva -- and he delivered one. The result was a 4-1 Denver win over the San Francisco Friars at Staples Field. Silva got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs.
Denver won the game in part because of Marcos Galarraga. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Glaciers ahead, 3-0. For the game, Galarraga had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Makes our job easier," said Galarraga, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
The win makes Denver 33-33.
