Shimamoto, Wolves March to 8-2 Victory
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Shigenobu Shimamoto, who led the WC in slugging percentage with .704 in 2074, led the Vancouver Wolves to a win over the San Francisco Friars, 8-2. Vancouver, at 31-34, holds down last place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Wolves grabbed the lead when Shimamoto hit his 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Bill Zamora made it 3-2, Vancouver.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen.
