The Avispas grabbed a win, 4-2, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada, overcoming a fine effort from Boston pitcher Javy Alejo. Alejo went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Vaisel Ajete was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Jim Lawrence. Santiago is now 38-27, Boston 28-36.

Santiago took a 4-2 lead on Karl Cooper's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Cooper hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Jim Lawrence visibly frustrated.
