Floundering Harfangs Lose 6th Straight
|
The Montreal Harfangs got a sterling performance from pitcher Mike Merdinger, but the Brooklyn Browns still prevailed, 5-2. Merdinger threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Norman Bos picked up the win in relief. Hawk Hartshorn took the loss for Montreal. Kyle Burch earned the save, his 3rd.
Had Raymilson Bayam not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bayam hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Browns.
"I like the roll we're on," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier.
The last-place Harfangs have lost 6 consecutive games.
