Gary Banks was masterful in helping the Buffalo Rangers take down the Maine Lobster, 3-0. The winner was Banks. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Chris Bridges. Joe Mellott earned the save for Buffalo.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Vance Kitchen? The Buffalo shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Rangers on top, 1-0. For the game, Kitchen had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
