The Phoenix Thunderbirds downed the Brooklyn Browns, 10-7, at Brown Town. Jose Montes led the way, going 3-for-5 for Phoenix. Phoenix reliever Jairo Madueno snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ocean Mendoza shouldered the loss. Phoenix sits at 3-4.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Montes delivered big-time for Phoenix, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Jorge Gamez. The game-changing hit put the Thunderbirds on top, 9-7.

"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Montes.
