The Tucson Toros used a great performance from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Lloyd to beat the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 3-1, at Legednary Park. Phoenix has now lost 5 straight.

The Toros got a big at-bat from right fielder Mario Flores. For the game, Flores went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Tucson a 2-1 lead.

"Bottom line," said Phoenix skipper Joe Busch, "we didn't play well enough to win."
