Havana took on Miami in front of a lively crowd.
A good performance from first baseman Homer Hanes helped the Havana Metropolitanos defeat the Miami Cyclones, 5-2. Hanes went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Metropolitanos. The save went to Bobby Alkire, his 2nd this season.
Havana used a well-timed hit by Soo-sung Yu to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Metropolitanos ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Said losing manager Chris Stephan: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
The Metropolitanos, at 41-23, sit in first place in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division.
