Juggernauts Knock Off Spectres, 8-3
|
Chad Schoepp was a major factor in the 8-3 Toronto win over Philadelphia. The Juggernauts left fielder went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Toronto is now 24-39.
Cheng-qian Eng, who finished 2nd in the EC in slugging percentage with .582 last year, took Philadelphia hurler Tommy Pepper deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Juggernauts on top, 2-0. In all, Eng had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"The team always comes first," Eng told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
