Browns Deal Rangers 6-1 Defeat
|
The Brooklyn Browns used the hitting of center fielder Jimmy Keener to subdue the Buffalo Rangers, 6-1. For the game, Keener went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Terry Waters, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The Browns sit in third place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division with a record of 30-33.
Jack Bird drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Brooklyn. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Allan Tinter. It was his 20th walk of the season.
"It was a good win," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier. "Not without blemish, but good."
