Palacios Homers Twice in 6-4 Spectres Win
|
The Philadelphia Spectres saddled the Havana Metropolitanos with a loss at Estadio Latinoamericano. The final score was 6-4. Dave Palacios was 3 for 3, including 1 single and 2 home runs. The Philadelphia designated hitter scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The winning pitcher was Bruce Roque. He's now 4-4. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits for the Spectres. Yeral Varela earned the save for Philadelphia, his 1st of the year.
With Philadelphia leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Palacios hit a fastball from Chih Lum for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Spectres ahead, 5-0.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Palacios. "It sure beats the alternative."
The Spectres now own a record of 34-27.
