The Washington Senators knocked off the St. Louis Gaedels, 6-5, at Veeck Park. Danny Mrazek hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Washington's record now stands at 27-34, placing them last in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division.

Washington used the timely hitting of Jeff Crandall to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Senators on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Mak Dolnick.
