The exploits of left fielder Zahi Cobo, who led the EC in runs with 152 in 2079, helped the Tucson Toros defeat the Kansas City Athletics, 6-2. Cobo went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Santos Gomez. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings.
