Rangers Waste Great Game from Rojas
|
Buffalo left fielder Bobby Rojas had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Philadelphia at Bison Stadium. Rojas was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Philadelphia reliever Akashi Kurosawa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ruben Filpo took the loss. The Spectres are now 32-28, while the Rangers fall to 39-22.
Eddie Kelly had a big 3-run home run for the Spectres in the top of the third inning. With Philadelphia leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Pablo Alvarez, who finished 5th in the WC in strikeouts with 206 in 2079, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Spectres on top, 5-1.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Philadelphia skipper Ryan Huff. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
