Minneapolis Defeated by Los Angeles, 7-4
|
The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 7-4, at Minneapolis Grounds. Los Angeles was led by 30-year old center fielder Ramão Bizarro, who was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles occupies second place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division at 33-27.
Dennis Videaux had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the top of the fifth inning. With Los Angeles leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Hawes and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 5-1.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Bizarro told reporters after the game.
