Mejia Stars as Metropolitanos Top Spectres, 12-7
Jose Mejia knocked in 4 runs to help Havana beat Philadelphia, 12-7. Mejia produced 1 single, 2 doubles, and 1 home run. Benito Cossutta picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. John Guzik was tagged with the loss. Luis Casillas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 6 save opportunities.

Jordan Vasquez had a big 2-run double for the Metropolitanos in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Havana leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 24-year old right-handed pitcher John Guzik and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Metropolitanos ahead, 4-1.

"We maximized our offense today," said Havana skipper Kevin Mayerhofer. "That makes everyone's life easier."

The Metropolitanos now have a record of 31-30 with the win over Philadelphia.
