Tigre Hits Two Dingers, Vikings Win, 8-5
|
Leonilde Tigre left his imprint on the 8-5 Minneapolis win against the Los Angeles Stars. Tigre, who is the 2082 Hitter of the Year Award winner, was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Joseph Stark picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-1. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. Kwang-sik Nho was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
With Minneapolis leading 3-2 in the top of the seventh, Tigre hit a fastball from Dave Mills for a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 7-2.
Afterward, Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers said: "We've hit a rough patch."
Minneapolis is now 39-21.
