Loss to Phantoms Extends Vancouver Losing Streak

Chicago registered a win at Fox-Chong Park by beating the Vancouver Wolves, 6-3. Pitcher R.J. Mendenhall was one reason why the Phantoms triumphed. Lan-fang Lai was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The second-place Phantoms hiked their record to 34-27.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Alberto Guardiola? The 26-year old center fielder Guardiola stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"We're in a rut," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen.
