Kansas City Athletics starter Gerald Tanton was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Tucson Toros, 3-1. The win puts Kansas City at 35-25 this season.

The Athletics got a big at-bat from designated hitter Alex Diaz. For the game, Diaz went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
