Harfangs Raise Rally Flag, Beat Santiago, 5-3
|
Santiago got a decent performance from pitcher Beau Eschmann, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montreal Harfangs. Montreal won the Mount Royal Park contest, 5-3. Eschmann threw 7.0 innings allowing 5 runs for the losing team. Montreal reliever Ron Trevathan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Beau Eschmann took the loss. The loss makes Santiago 2-4.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Erleisi Linares came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Santiago pitcher Luis Robles, he hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Montreal on top, 4-3.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Linares.
