Boston took on Montreal in front of a lively crowd.

The Boston Greens defeated the Montreal Harfangs, 5-0, in Eastern Conference action at Mount Royal Park. Boston pitcher Al Nieves had a standout performance. The winner was Nieves. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was John Rochford.

Brian Snavley had a big 2-run double for the Greens in the top of the third inning. With Boston leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from John Rochford, who finished 4th in the WC in wins with 16 in 2078, and swatted a double to center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Greens ahead, 4-0.

"Enjoyed this one," Nieves told the Boston Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

Boston is now 29-28.
