Houston Aquas starter Axel Mendiola pitched a strong game against the Vancouver Wolves at Tesoro Stadium, leading the Aquas to victory, 11-3. Mendiola picked up the win for Houston, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 8-1. Houston is now 39-19.

Al Anzaldua had a big run-scoring double for the Aquas in the bottom of the second inning. With Houston leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Olympio Odescalchi and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aquas ahead, 3-1.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Houston manager Brandon Coroian.
