First Baseman Nick Johnston made an impact for Miami, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Antonio Avellaneda in the top of the third. For the contest, Johnston went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Cyclones manager Chris Stephan.
