Roberto Davila, who finished 4th in the EC in strikeouts with 193 last year, propelled his team to victory over the Kansas City Athletics. The final score was 5-4, Los Angeles. Touta Kubo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Stars saw their win-loss record go to 32-26. At the same time, the Athletics fell to 30-29.
