Spectres Suffer 6-3 Setback
The Havana Metropolitanos defeated the Philadelphia Spectres, 6-3, in Eastern Conference action at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Havana pitcher Buddy Verveer had a standout performance. Fish Rablood, who finished 3rd in the WC in wins with 17 in 2073, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Steve Jennifer. With the win, Havana pushed its record to 36-22.

Andy Gonzales came through with a big-time hit for Havana. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"No time for flexing," said Gonzales. "It's always one game at a time."
