Athletics Fall to Gaedels, 3-2
The St. Louis Gaedels eked out a 3-2 win versus the Kansas City Athletics at Veeck Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Steve Pohlman. He was terrific. Carter Commiskey earned the save for St. Louis, his 4th of the year. The losses continue to mount for Kansas City, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Gaedels had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Neosbel Benavides hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jonathan Zelina and made the score 3-1, Gaedels. Benavides went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Joe Monagle.
